Retailers are Good Neighbors – The Mall at Stonecrest

Trish Elmore, Manager of the Mall at Stonecrest and her staff spent a Friday in September painting, doing carpentry work, cleaning, organizing and remodeling the Decatur Cooperative Ministry, which provides many services to the homeless and at-risk families. According to Ms. Elmore, “We recognized their commitment to helping families and felt that it was the perfect opportunity for our group to reach out for a positive cause and make a difference in the lives of others.”

Those from the mall were joined by nearly 1,000 other Forest City associates who worked that day in 30 cities across the country. Forest City created Community Day in 2004 as a initiative that allows employees to volunteer their time and skills to local community organizations and to exhibit the company’s strong belief in its other core values, such as teamwork and performance ethic.
