BI-LO CHARITY CLASSIC TO BENEFIT LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
MAULDIN, SC – The 2006 BI-LO Charity Classic raised over $5.5
million in this year’s 23rd annual golf event, which took
place on June 12 in the Upstate of South Carolina. This breaks the
tournament’s record of $4.5 million set last year.

Trish Elmore, Manager of the Mall at Stonecrest and her staff spent
a Friday in September painting, doing carpentry work, cleaning,
organizing and remodeling the Decatur Cooperative Ministry, which
provides many services to the homeless and at-risk families.

seed money Raises $100,000 for Tsunami Relief
In January Mauldin, South Carolina based BI-LO supermarkets supported
Tsunami relief efforts by matching $25,000 in gifts to the American
Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund for their efforts with
the disaster. That $25,000 commitment served as the catalyst for
raising a total of $100,000.

March 15, 2005 the EPA and DOE recognize Sears with Excellence in
Appliance Retailing 2005 Award.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department
of Energy (DOE) have recognized Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE: S)
with the Excellence in Appliance Retailing 2005 award for its outstanding
contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through leadership
in energy-efficient appliance retailing. Sears' accomplishments
will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on
March 15, 2005.

Home Depot Shakes Up Industry

When you go through the automatic doors of Home Depot to get your
wood chipper, gas blower, pressure washer, nail gun, or fence posts,
you're walking straight into the globalized economy.
Faucets made in China, timber cut in Canada, tools fabricated in
the United States. Home Depot is an acknowledged innovator that
grew from an interesting idea in 1978 to a retailing colossus in
2004. Its cash registers bleep in 1,766 stores, and it employs more
than 300,000 people on several continents. But nowhere has it gone
against the grain more than in its vital wood-products business.

improvement retailer, is delivering today on its pledge to donate
$1 million in tools and materials to support the U.S. military in
Iraq . Nearly 100,000 tools and materials, including shovels, table
saws, concrete mixers, safety scaffolding, power generators, light
bulbs, jackhammers, and thousands of letters from associates at
The Home Depot to troops will be loaded on nine tractor trailers
in San Diego this morning to begin an 8,000-mile journey by U.S.
Army and U.S. Marine Corps transportation to U.S. military installations
in Iraq.
