Sears Holdings Pendergrass Direct Delivery Center Grand Opening

On August 29, 2007 the Georgia Retail Association coordinated the participation of local dignitaries at the grand opening of the Sears Holdings Corporation 782,000 square foot Direct Delivery Center in Pendergrass, Georgia.

Local dignitaries attending were State Senator Ralph Hudgens; State Representative Tommy Benton; Jackson County Commission Chair, Pat Bell; Jackson County Commissioner Tom Graves; Susie Haggard, Senior Regional Project Manager with the Georgia Department of Economic Development; Dennis Pitts, Field Representative for Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle;, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce President Jim Yarborough, and United States Senator Saxby Chambliss Regional Representative Darren Kendall. The Georgia Retail Association was represented by President John Heavener who coordinated the participation of local dignitaries.

The Hoffman Estates-based Sears Holdings delegation was led by Senior Vice President Jim Mixon and George White, facility General Manager who spoke on behalf of the local Sears Holdings employees. Other Sears representatives included: Vice President Tony Brooks; Director Jim Riddle; Division Vice President Tony Datillo; Associate General Manager Parker Johnson, Logistics Vice President Jim Comerford; and Director Kris Eyunni.

The new center, which employs 110 local residents, will distribute home appliances, tractors, TV’s and other large ticket items to local warehouses at over 232 Sears and Kmart store locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
