The Georgia Retail Association is the advocate for Georgia's
retailers at the state legislative and regulatory levels,
and with Congress and federal agencies when necessary, and
supports retailers through its education and communications
functions.

- To have a continuing presence at the State Capitol during
the legislative session and in the interim, as necessary.
- To operate a political action committee to support candidates
whose views and/or positions make them important to GRA.
- To develop relationships with members of the Georgia General
Assembly and key state agency personnel by participating
in various events, by making personal visits and by sponsoring
an annual legislative conference that encourages interaction
between GRA members and key government officials.
- To motivate GRA member retailers to participate in the
activities listed above and to communicate with legislators
and agency personnel on specific issues.
- To cooperate when possible with other organizations in
coalitions to accomplish common legislative and regulatory
objectives.

- To assist individual members with specific legislative
or regulatory needs recognizing that what impacts one retail
business is likely to impact many others.

- To communicate with GRA members through newsletters, bulletins
and other available means to provide information important
to the conduct of their businesses and to seek their assistance
when necessary to help GRA achieve its government affairs
objectives.

- To continually solicit the participation of non-member
retailers in support of the objectives outlined above and
to provide certain discounted business services as membership
incentives.
