The Georgia Retail Association:
- Believes a free market economy benefits retailers,
their employees and the consumers of Georgia;
- Takes appropriate public positions on issues
which relate to the retail industry;
- Opposes legislation and regulations that would
unreasonably restrict retailers' ways of doing business or that
would put an unfair financial burden on them;
- Seeks a fair hearing for its members' views.
GRA asks legislators, regulators and others to consider our positions
and to give us proper and fair consideration before making decisions
on matters that affect our members' businesses;
- Observes the spirit as well as the letter of
laws and regulations and deals ethically in all circumstances;
- Makes political contributions to support candidates
for political office whom we believe will show integrity in office
and who understand our business and give us fair hearing on issues
of concern to retailing; and,
- Encourages retailers to become involved
in the democratic process by exercising their right to vote, by
joining the political party of their choice and by communicating
personally with elected officials on issues critical to their
businesses.
