More support is pouring in for Georiga’s Main Street businesses evrey day - and the media is taking notice.
Highlights of the week include Fox News and WSB in Atlanta, which each ran a story about the effort and interviewed Main Street businesses for a firsthand perspective on how important it is to level the playing field. Also, there was a wonderful guest column from the Marietta Square and the Georgia Retail Associatoin’s own Rick McAllister called in early to the Bll & Joel show on WDUN in Gainesvile.
Thank you to Phidippies, Showcase Photo & Video and Limelight on the Square for being a voice for the industry! Great job!

“I really think the governor was right on target when he talked about fairness. He joins the speaker of the house and senators all across Georgia who have come to us and said it’s time to stop this. To level the playing field, to not make Georgia’s Main Street merchants suffer from this. So, yes indeed, we applaud them and we hope there’ll be action in the session coming up.”

“The job creaters in Georgia are paying the tax. It should be applied fairly. It should be applied evenly.”

“Let’s make no mistake — I’m not advocating that the state impose any new tax. Instead, the state should allow the current sales tax to be applied fairly and evenly. That type of fairness will end the sales tax discrimination that hurts so many of the men and women who own hardware stores, book stores, jewelry stores, and the many other retail establishments that populate our towns and cities.
These same small businesses, who make the investment in your hometown, have helped make America the example of free-market and entrepreneurship for the rest of the world.”
